CROESO - The Welsh Festival of Orienteering

Croeso is a week-long orienteering festival held every 4 years.  

CROESO 2012 - Aberystwyth - 22nd to 28th July 2012

The 6 Days of Orienteering in Wales will be based in Aberystwyth, a Victorian coastal resort town on the west coast of Wales.

CROESO 2012 will provide 4 Long races, 1 Middle race and 1 Urban race, with an optional training day. Our event centre is Aberystwyth University and will be the focal point for CROESO 2012. The event campsite is adjacent to the University campus and will accommodate tents, campervans and caravans. Single and multiple occupancy en-suite rooms are available in the University.

CROESO 2008

Took place in South Wales from 3-9 August. The event centre was Parc Bryn Bach.

Areas used were Merthyr Common, The Blorenge, Pwll Du, Clydach Terrace, Mynydd Y Garn and Wentwood Forest.

CROESO 2004

The CROESO 2004 Festival took place in South Wales from Saturday, 14th August to Saturday, 21st August.  Its website has now closed, but some historic details will remain for a limited period.

COMPETITION FORMAT

CROESO 2004 was a 6-day event with 4 out of 6 days to count. Scoring was based on the Scottish multi-day system.
All days were Age-class events. Additional courses: Novice Men and Novice Women; Colour coded (White, Yellow, Orange and Light Green).
Prizes were awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the 'L' and 'A' courses, and 1st and Runner-up on the 'S' and 'B' courses.
A String course was provided for all days - with differently-coloured awards for each day completed (as in previous CROESO festivals).
